St. Martin’s Lutheran School is seeking a reliable, caring, and responsible Extended Day / After Care Staff Member to support students during our afternoon program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values structure and consistency, and wants to contribute to a safe, orderly, and positive after-school environment.
This is a part-time, non-supervisory position supporting students during extended day hours under the direction of school leadership.
About the Role:
St. Martins Evangelical Lutheran School is seeking an enthusiastic Extended Day/After Care Teacher to join our vibrant community in Annapolis, MD. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about nurturing children's growth and creating a positive, engaging environment after school hours from 3:00 - 6:00pm OR 12:00 - 6:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage students in various activities during aftercare hours.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate games, crafts, and educational activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in your care.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages social interaction.
- Assist with homework and provide academic support as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for students.
- Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the aftercare program.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a fun and engaging learning environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
- High school diploma required; degree in education or related field preferred.
- Background check clearance prior to employment.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate after school hours.
